Unemployed for over 3 years, and probably too old to get hired.

Hi, I have several student loans from the same school. The school did not allowed me continue and finish.
I have an associates, but they made me start from the beginning. After two more years studying on-line; I couldn’t pass the certifications and the school decided to suspend me unless I took a loan that I did not qualified for.

Now I have a debt over 21,000 dollars and no job and no bachellor degree. All I had from that school was 2 certifications that employers did not even took seriously. I was CIW certified and A+ certified on 2012.

Also, I am married, but I can’t count with my husband for anything, other than to supply me with food and shelter. What can I do?

I am willing to work or volunteer. I can’t find a job in my field, I am 51 and live in South NJ. Any recommendations?

Are these federal loans? If so, step number one would probably be to get enrolled in an income driven repayment plan.

As far as work, does your school have a career development office or something of that sort? They should hopefully be able to help you find work.

I don’t have any experience with the South NJ job marketplace, so I’m not really able to offer any sort of insight there.

Best wishes.
