student loan consolidation

I am trying to consolidate my $80000 in private student loans and I cannot find a bank or company that will accept me. I am a public school teacher and my payments of $800 a month are too much to handle. I have been turned away by six companies. Please help!

It often feels like those who need student loan consolidation can’t get it, but the people who really don’t need the help, qualify.

Last year we covered some of the tips that you can you to turn your rejections into an acceptance: https://studentloansherpa.com/mailbag-turning-student-loan-consolidation-rejection-acceptance/

Your current private lenders may also have programs that can temporarily lower your interest rate. One such program is the rate reduction program with Navient. More on that here: https://studentloansherpa.com/interest-rate-navient/
