I’m trying to reduce my interest rate of 7.25% for the $43 (now $50K) I borrowed for a 15mth grad school program in UK from Sallie Mae.
I called LendKey and they do not refinance loans taken out for studies taken internationally – and I thought: what gives?
I’m a US citizen, back and at it after this program. Why would they have this strange policy? and…
What are my other options?
I have a decent credit score (786) and would like to work out a plan prior to starting the next set of studies (thankfully funded!).
We actually just wrote an article on that very subject that should be of some use to you: https://studentloansherpa.com/…..ns-abroad/
Unfortunately, your options are limited, but you might have some luck with a personal loan or something along those lines.
Good luck, and be sure to let us know if you have any more questions.

Hello again. I was poking around personal loans and stumbled upon this and now hoping you might do a review and possibly include on your list.
