IBR and repayment plans through multiple loan servicers

I am in the process of looking into IBR for my lovely student loans that are currently held through multiple servicers. Does each servicer need to process this IBR application?

It should be just one single application. The Department of Education estimates that applying only takes 10 minutes. The website to apply is here: https://studentloans.gov/myDirectLoan/ibrInstructions.action

Due to the fact that you have multiple servicers, it is probably best to make sure that none of them make a mistake figuring out your payment. I’d recommend going to the Department of Educations repayment estimator. This tool will tell you how much you can expect your total monthly IBR payment to be. If the numbers don’t check out, you will know one of your loan servicers made a mistake. The repayment estimator can be found here: https://studentloans.gov/myDirectLoan/repaymentEstimator.action
